Why Our Metrics Excel

Our ten proprietary metrics offer unmatched precision. Unlike basic stats like yards or touchdowns, they capture efficiency, clutch performance, and consistency. Below, we explain each metric, its purpose, and why it beats traditional stats.

Team Metrics: Decoding Coaching Impact

  • Coaching Impact Value (CIV)
    • Purpose: Measures how coaches boost team points and efficiency beyond expectations.
    • Why It’s Better: CIV shows coaching brilliance. Win-loss records lack context, but CIV highlights impact. It predicts scoring for teams.
    • Fantasy Benefit: High CIV coaches increase points for RBs, WRs, and D/ST.
  • Scheme Synergy Score (SSS)
    • Purpose: Evaluates how a coach’s playbook fits star players and rosters.
    • Why It’s Better: SSS reveals scheme fit. Raw play counts miss this synergy. SSS predicts PPR production.
    • Fantasy Benefit: High SSS boosts key players in PPR leagues.
  • Clutch Performance Differential (CPD)
    • Purpose: Compares team performance in clutch moments (close games, red zone) to normal plays.
    • Why It’s Better: CPD captures crunch-time excellence. Basic EPA lacks situational focus. CPD ensures late-game fantasy points.
    • Fantasy Benefit: High CPD enhances skill players and D/ST in tight matchups.

Player Metrics: Spotting Breakout Stars

  • Impact Efficiency Score (IES)
    • Purpose: Tracks efficiency in turning targets or carries into big plays (e.g., 20+ yard receptions).
    • Why It’s Better: IES spots sleepers. Yards per carry ignores context, but IES includes clutch plays. It predicts PPR breakouts.
    • Fantasy Benefit: IES > 0.7 signals elite draft picks.
  • Opportunity Conversion Index (OCI)
    • Purpose: Measures how players convert carries and targets into fantasy points.
    • Why It’s Better: OCI highlights efficient players. Total points favor high-volume players, but OCI rewards efficiency.
    • Fantasy Benefit: OCI > 1.2 identifies RB and WR studs.
  • Clutch Efficiency Ratio (CER)
    • Purpose: Compares fantasy points per touch in red-zone or 4th-quarter plays to overall output.
    • Why It’s Better: CER finds TD machines like Derrick Henry (CER 1.8). TD counts lack context, but CER focuses on clutch moments.
    • Fantasy Benefit: CER > 1.5 boosts PPR TD potential.
  • Yards After Contact Efficiency (YACE)
    • Purpose: Tracks yards after contact per carry or reception, normalized for position.
    • Why It’s Better: YACE reveals elusive players. Raw YAC ignores role size, but YACE predicts big plays.
    • Fantasy Benefit: YACE > 1.2 signals high-upside picks.
  • Red-Zone Opportunity Share (RZOS)
    • Purpose: Shows a player’s share of team red-zone touches.
    • Why It’s Better: RZOS predicts TDs better than red-zone targets. It accounts for team context.
    • Fantasy Benefit: RZOS > 20% marks TD-heavy players.
  • Play-Action Efficiency (PAE)
    • Purpose: Measures yards and EPA on play-action passes.
    • Why It’s Better: PAE highlights QBs and WRs in play-action schemes. Total yards miss this focus.
    • Fantasy Benefit: PAE > 8.5 boosts QB and WR value.
  • Consistency Index (CI)
    • Purpose: Quantifies game-to-game fantasy point variance.
    • Why It’s Better: CI ensures reliability. Average points hide volatility, but CI rewards consistency.
    • Fantasy Benefit: CI < 0.10 guarantees steady PPR output.
